The KUNSTSAMMLUNGEN ZWICKAU Max-Pechstein-Museum combines a collection of art and natural-history exhibits that can be experienced in various settings within an impressive building protected as historic monument.

Opened in 1914 as ‘König-Albert-Museum’ with a representative cupola hall, the Kunstsammlungen today is considered as one of the most important art museums in Central Germany. Since 2014 the museum hosts the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to Max Pechstein who was born in Zwickau and became known as member of the artist group ‘Brücke’ (The Bridge).
